Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi belajar dan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa, serta kurangnya penerapan apersepsi selama pembelajaran matematika di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Majene. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh positif dari penerapan apersepsi terhadap motivasi belajar, dan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Majene. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimental non equivalen control grup design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 6 Majene, dengan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol . Data pada penelitian diperoleh dari angket motivasi belajar dan tes pemahaman konsep matematika serta lembar observasi. Hasil uji hipotesis berdasarkan analisis uji t (welch’s t-test) diperoleh nilai signifikansi , 0,000<0,05 yang artinya H0 ditolak, dan H1 diterima. selain itu, diperoleh nilai n-gain motivasi belajar pada kelas eksperimen 0,386
lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,140, dan nilai n-gain pemahaman konsep matematika pada kelas eksperimen 0,676 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,70 menunjukkan bahwa penerapan apersepsi berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi belajar dan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Majene.
This research was motivated by students' low learning motivation and understanding of mathematical concepts, as well as the lack of application of apperception during mathematics learning in class VIII of SMP Negeri 6 Majene.The aim of this research is to determine the positive influence of applying apperception on learning motivation and understanding of mathematical concept in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Majene. The type of research used is quantitative research with a quasi experimental non equivalent control group
design. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 6 Majene, with class VIII C as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class. Data in the research were obtained from learning motivation questionnaires and tests of understanding mathematical concepts as well as observation sheets. The results of hypothesis testing based on t test analysis (Welch's t-test) obtained a significance value of 0.000<0.05, which means H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. In addition, the n-gain value of learning motivation in the experimental class was 0.386 higher than the control class, namely 0.140, and the n-gain value of understanding mathematical concepts in the experimental class was 0.676 higher than the control class, namely 0.70, indicating that the application of apperception had a positive effect on students' learning motivation and understanding of mathematical concepts in class VIII of SMP Negeri 6 Majene.
