Abstract

Work stress among nurses is a crucial issue in health services as it can affect performance, patient safety, and the overall quality of care. At Majene General Hospital, the factors contributing to nurses’ work stress have not been extensively studied. Preliminary interviews indicated that mental workload, interpersonal conflict, and work shift patterns might play an important role in nurses’ stress levels in inpatient wards. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with nurses’ work stress in the inpatient ward of Majene General Hospital. A quantitative design with an analytic cross-sectional method was applied. The population consisted of all nurses in the inpatient ward, with a total sample of 119 respondents. The instruments used were the NASA Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) for mental
workload, the Expanded Nursing Stress Scale (ENSS) for work stress, as well as questionnaires on interpersonal conflict and outside work activities. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis to describe frequency distribution and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that mental workloadv (p=0.00), interpersonal conflict (p=0.00), work shifts (p=0.00), and length of
employment (p=0.034) were significantly associated with nurses’ work stress (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, outside work activities (p=0.114) were not significantly associated (p > 0.05). It is recommended that hospital management improve workload management, enhance communication skills, and arrange more balanced work shifts to reduce nurses’ work stress and improve service quality
Stres kerja pada perawat merupakan masalah penting dalam pelayanan kesehatan karena dapat memengaruhi kinerja, keselamatan pasien, dan kualitas pelayanan. Pada Rumah Sakit Umum Majene, faktor-faktor penyebab stres kerja perawat belum banyak diteliti secara ilmiah. Berdasarkan wawancara awal, beban kerja mental, konflik interpersonal, dan pola shift diduga berperan penting terhadap tingkat stres perawat di ruang rawat inap. Penelitian ini bertujuan untu menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan stres kerja perawat di ruang rawat inap RSUD Majene. Desain penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analitik cross-sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh perawat ruang rawat inap RSUD Majene dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 119. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi kuesioner NASA Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) untuk beban kerja mental, Expanded Nursing Stress Scale (ENSS) untuk stres kerja, serta
kuesioner konflik interpersonal dan aktivitas di luar pekerjaan. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat untuk mendeskripsikan distribusi frekuensi dan bivariat menggunakan uji statistik Chis-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor beban kerja mental (p=0,00), konflik interpersonal (p=0,00), shift kerja (p=0,00) dan masa kerja (p=0,034) berhubungan signifikan dengan stres kerja perawat (p < 0,05), sedangkan faktor aktivitas di luar pekerjaan (p=0,114) tidak berhubungan signifikan (p > 0,05). Disarankan bagi manajemen rumah sakit untuk melakukan manajemen beban kerja, peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi, mengatur sistem shift kerja yang lebih seimbang agar dapat menurunkan tingkat stres kerja perawat dan meningkatkan mutu pelayanan.
