Abstract
This study aims to analyze the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in Bali cattle in Pasangkayu Regency using a descriptive method. The study was conducted on 99 cattle, where the results showed that 77 (77.78%) of the total cattle examined were infected with parasites. The prevalence of infection was higher in female cattle (46.46%) than male cattle (31.32%), which is thought to be related to physiological factors and the immune system. The types of parasites found included Nematodes (eg Strongyloides sp., Ascaris sp., and Bunostomum sp., Haemonchus sp.), Cestoda such as Moniezia sp., and protozoa such as Eimeria spp. and Balantidium coli. This study underlines the importance of livestock health management, including preventive strategies such as providing quality feed, sanitation, and regular deworming programs, to reduce the impact of parasites on cattle productivity. These findings are expected to provide insight into the development of more effective livestock health programs in the region.
