SMK Negeri 1 Tapalang Barat, satu-satunya sekolah kejuruan di wilayah Tapalang Barat, memiliki dua jurusan utama, yaitu Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan (TKJ) serta Multimedia. Untuk mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi dunia kerja, sekolah ini melaksanakan program Praktek Kerja Lapangan (PKL). Namun, jarak tempat
PKL yang jauh dari rumah siswa menyebabkan kesulitan dalam hal biaya dan waktu transportasi, sehingga siswa merasa bingung memilih tempat PKL yang sesuai dengan kompetensi dan kondisi pribadi mereka. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, diperlukan sebuah solusi berupa Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) yang dapat memberikan rekomendasi tempat PKL berdasarkan kriteria seperti jurusan, jarak dari rumah, dan faktor relevan lainnya. Sistem ini diharapkan dapat mempermudah siswa dalam memilih tempat PKL yang tepat, sekaligus membantu pihak sekolah dalam pengambilan keputusan penempatan PKL yang lebih efisien dan akurat.

SMK Negeri 1 Tapalang Barat, the only vocational school in the Tapalang Barat region, offers two main programs: Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) and Multimedia. To prepare students for the workforce, the school implements the Work Practice Program (PKL). However, the distance between the PKL locations and the students' homes causes difficulties in terms of transportation costs and time, leading to confusion among students in choosing the most suitable PKL location that aligns with their skills and personal circumstances. To address this issue, a solution in the form of a Decision Support System (DSS) is
proposed, which can recommend PKL locations based on criteria such as thestudents' major, distance from home, and other relevant factors. This system is expected to help students make more informed decisions in choosing a suitable PKL location, while also assisting the school in making more efficient and accurate
decisions regarding PKL placement.
