Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kefir air kelapa terhadap total eritrosit dan persentase hematokrit darah ayam broiler. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan, yaitu P0 (tanpa pemberian kefir air kelapa), P1 (5% kefir
air kelapa), P2 (10% kefir air kelapa), dan P3 (15% kefir air kelapa), masingmasing terdiri dari 5 ulangan. Jumlah hewan coba sebanyak 20 ekor ayam broiler. Parameter yang diamati meliputi total eritrosit dan persentase hematokrit yang dianalisis statistik menggunakan ANOVA dan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kefir air kelapa memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) terhadap peningkatan total eritrosit dan persentase hematokrit ayam broiler. Hasil terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan P0 (tanpa pemberian kefir air kelapa) dengan hasil total eritrosit sebesar 3,78 × 106 /mm dan hematokrit sebesar 43.80 %. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kefir air kelapa terbukti meningkatkan eritrosit dan hematokrit ayam broiler, namun melebihi batas normal dimana peningkatan sel darah merah dapat meningkatkan kadar lemak jenuh dan kolesterol dalam daging yang dapat membahayakan kesehatan manusia.
This study aims to determine the effect of coconut water kefir on total erythrocytes and hematocrit percentage of broiler chicken blood. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments, namely P0 (without coconut water kefir), P1 (5% coconut water kefir), P2 (10% coconut water kefir), and P3 (15% coconut water kefir), each consisting of 5 replications. The number of experimental animals was 20 broiler chickens. The parameters observed included total erythrocytes and hematocrit percentage which were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and Duncan's further test. The results
showed that coconut water kefir had a significant effect (P <0.05) on increasing total erythrocytes and hematocrit percentage of broiler chickens. The best results were found in treatment P0 (without coconut water kefir) with total erythrocyte results of 3.78 × 106/mm and hematocrit of 43.80%. It can be concluded that giving coconut water kefir has been proven to increase erythrocytes and hematocrit in broiler chickens, but exceeds the normal limit where the increase in red blood cells can increase the levels of saturated fat and cholesterol in meat which can be harmful to human health
