Lebah Tetragonula adalah jenis lebah madu yang termasuk kedalam ordo Hymenoptera karena memiliki ciri khas yaitu sayap yang tipis menyerupai selaput (Hymen=selaput tipis dan Pteron=sayap), dan Family apidae karena memiliki mulut pengunyah, empat sayap, dan antena serta penghasil madu. Tipe antena lebah adalah Geniculate, yaitu jenis antena yang bengkok hampir menyerupai sendi lulut
atau sendi siku. Kaki belakang mengalami modifikasi berupa kantong polen (Corbiculate), yang berfungsi untuk tempat membawa polen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi spesies, karakteristik habitat dan sarang lebah Tetragonula di Desa Mirring Provinsi Sulawesi Barat serta menerapkan temuan tersebut sebagai sumber pendidikan biologi melalui pengembangan booklet. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini memadukan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang dikenal dengan Mixed Method. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah
lebah Tetragonula di Desa Mirring. Proses mengidentifikasi jenis dilakukan pada dua tahap yaitu secara mandiri oleh peneliti dengan berdasarkan kunci determinasi dan diidentifikasi di laboratorium Entomologi, BRIN (Badan Riset Inovasi Nasional) Cibinong. Karakteristik habitat meliputi faktor biotik (jenis pakan dan polen) dan faktor abiotik meliputi Entrance (pintu masuk), posisi sarang, ketinggian
sarang dari tanah, jarak sarang dari sumber air, jumlah sarang, sebaran sarang, parameter lingkungan dan jarak antara sarang). Hasil dari penelitian kemudian diimplementasikan dalam bentuk booklet sebagai sumber belajar biologi pada materi Arthropoda, Capaian Pembelajaran 3.8, dengan judul booklet “Arthropoda (identifikasi jenis, karakteristih habitat dan sarang lebah Tetragonula)”.
Tetragonula bees are a type of honey bee that is included in the Hymenoptera order because has the characteristic of thin wings resembling a membrane (thin Hymen membrane and wing Pteron), and the Apidae family because it has a chewing mouth, four wings, and antennas and honey producers. The type of bee antenna is Geniculate, which is a type of antenna that is bent almost like a knee
joint or elbow joint. The hind legs are modified in the form of pollen sacs (Corbiculate), which function as a place to carry pollen. This research aims to identify the types, characteristics of Tetragonula bee habitat and nests in Mirring Village, West Sulawesi and develop the result as a biology learning resource in the form of a booklet. This research uses a mixed methods approach. The samples used
in this research were Tetragonula bees found in Mirring Village. The process of identifying the type was carried out in two stages, namely independently by researchers based on the determination key and identified in the Entomology laboratory, BRIN (National Innovation Research Agency) Cibinong. Habitat characteristics include biotic factors (types of food and pollen) and abiotic factors
include Entrance, nest position, nest height from the ground, nest distance from water source, number of nests, nest distribution, environmental parameters and distance between nests). The results of this research were realized in the form of a
booklet which was used as a biology learning resource on the topic of Arthropoda. Learning Outcome 3.8, with the title of the booklet “Arthropods (identification of types, characteristics of Tetragonula bee habitat and nest)”.
