The Nature Of Science Literacy Test (NOSLiT) adalah tes pilihan ganda dengan jumlah soal 35 yang dirancang untuk menilai pemahaman siswa sekolah menengah tentang sifat sains. Hal ini sebagai bagian dari serangkaian tes yang dirancang untuk menilai subjek literasi ilmiah yang jauh lebih komprehensif. NOSLiT adalah salah satu tes valid untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi sains. NOSLiT dapat menjadi alternatif tes untuk membantu mengidentifikasi kelemahan siswa dalam kemampuan literasi sains sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan menentukan keefektifan suatu program. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan literasi sains siswa dengan menggunakan Indikator NOSLiT serta meningkatkan minat baca pada siswa kelas XI IPA di SMA Negeri 1 Tinambung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 87 peserta didik. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang kemampuan literasi sains. Data yang diperoleh dari setiap objek penelitian selanjutnya diolah untuk menghasilkan kesimpulan yang bersifat kuat. Tes yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Indikator NOSLiT. Data berupa statistik seperti persentase dapat dihitung jika diperlukan untuk menjelaskan rincian spesifik tentang fenomena dalam penyelidikan. Sebelum melakukan penelitian, instrumen yang akan digunakan berupa tes uraian divalidasi oleh 2 validator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan literasi sains siswa dapat ditinjau dari Indikator NOSLiT yaitu; 1) Pengetahuan Ilmiah (Scientific knowledge), 2) Keterampilan Proses Intelektual (Intellectual prosses skils), 3) Kaidah-kaidah Bukti Ilmiah (Rules of scientific evidence), 4) Postulat Sains (Postulates of science), 5) Watak Ilmiah (Scientific disposition), 6) Miskonsepsi Mengenai Sains (Major misconception about science). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut secara keseluruhan kemampuan literasi sains siswa berada pada kategori cukup dengan persentase 70,41%. Tingkat kemampuan literasi sains pada siswa SMA Negeri 1 Tinambung memiliki kemampuan pengetahuan yang bisa dibilang cukup baik karena telah dapat menjawab sebagian besar soal yang telah diberikan.
The Nature Of Science Literacy Test (NOSLiT) is a 35-item multiple-choice test designed to assess high school students' understanding of the nature of science. It is part of a series of tests designed to assess a much more comprehensive scientific literacy subject. NOSLiT is one of the valid tests to measure scientific literacy skills. NOSLiT can be an alternative test to help identify students' weaknesses in scientific literacy skills so that it can be used as a reference in improving the learning process and determining the effectiveness of a program. The aim of this research is to determine the level of students' scientific literacy abilities using the NOSLiT indicator and increase reading interest in class XI Science students at SMA Negeri 1 Tinambung. This research uses a quantitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 87 students. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive analysis. Descriptive analysis is used to provide an overview of scientific literacy abilities. The data obtained from each research object is then processed to produce strong conclusions. The test used in this research uses the NOSLiT indicator. Data in the form of statistics such as percentages can be calculated if necessary to explain specific details about the phenomenon under investigation. Before conducting research, the instrument to be used in the form of a description test was validated by 2 validators. The research results show that overall students' scientific literacy can be seen from the NOSLiT indicators, namely; 1) Scientific Knowledge (Science), 2) Intellectual Process Skills (Intellectual Process Skills), 3) Rules of Scientific Evidence (Rules of Scientific Proof), 4) Postulates of Science (Postulas of Science), 5) Scientific Disposition (Scientific disposition), 6) Misconceptions About Science (Main misconceptions about science). Based on these results, students' overall scientific literacy abilities are in the sufficient category with a percentage of 70.41%. The level of scientific literacy ability of SMA Negeri 1 Tinambung students has knowledge skills that can be said to be quite good because they can answer most of the questions that have been given.
