Komunikasi terapeutik merupakan aspek krusial dalam pelayanan keperawatan, yang dilakukan secara sadar dan terencana, untuk mendukung penyembuhan pasien. Teori peplau menekankan pentingnya hubungan terapeutik yang positif antara perawat dan pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan komunikasi terapeutik perawat berdasarkan teori peplau dengan kepuasan pasien rawat inap di RSUD
Majene. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kauntitatif dengan desain crosssectional pada 179 pasien rawat inap yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner yang mengukur penerapan komunikasi terapeutik berdasarkan empat fase Peplau (orientasi, identifikasi, eksploitasi dan resolusi). Analisis data menggunakan uji Chi-square untuk menentukan ada tidaknya hubungan antara variabel, sementara uji korelasi Spearman’s rho digunakan untuk mengukur kekuatan dan arah hubungan. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan (p<0.05) dengan korelasi positif kuat (rho=0.701). Kesimpulan bahwa penerapan komunikasi terapeutik berdasarkan teori Peplau berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kepuasan pasien. Direkomendasikan agar RSUD Majene memfasilitasi peningkatan keterempilan terapeutik perawat melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan.
Therapeutic communication is a crucial aspect of nursing care, conducted consciously and purposefully to support patient recovery. Peplau’s theory emphasizes the importance of positive therapeutic relationship between nurses and patient. The study aims to analyze the relationship between nurses’s therapeutic communication based on Peplau’s theory and inpatient satisfaction at Majene Regional Public Hospital. The research method used a quantitative approach with cross-sectional design involving 179 inpatient selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires measuring the implementation of therapeutic communication based on Peplau’s four phases (orientation, identification, exploitation and resolution). Data analysis used Chi-square test to determine the relationship between variables, while Spearman’s rho correlation test was used to measure the strength and direction of the relationship. The result showed a significant relationship (p<0.05) with a strong positive correlation (rho=0.701). it is concluded that the implementation
of therapeutic communication based on Peplau’s theory plays an important role ini improving patient satisfaction. It is recommended that Majene Regional Public Hospital facilitate the enhancement of nurses’s therapeutic communication skill through continuous training.
