Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat keefektifan teknil describe and draw dalam pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan speaking siswa dan juga untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa dalam penggunaan teknik describe and draw dalam pembelajaran speaking di kelas X MIPA 3 SMAN 3 Majene, jenis penelitian ini menggunakan quantitative dengan desain Pre Experimental. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X MIPA 3 SMAN 3 Majene, dengan jumlah sebanyak 25 siswa. data dari penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui tes speaking dan angket, pre-test diberikan pada kelas sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan posttest setelah diberikan perlakuan. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan mengunakan SPSS untuk mengetahui data homogen dan normal. Kemudian diuji hipotesis dengan menggunakan paired samples test. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan N-Gain untuk mengukur efektivitas penggunaan suatu perlakukan dalam penelitian. Hasil uji paired sample t-test nilai sig.(2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa (H1) diterima dan (H0) di tolak. Hasil angket persepsi juga menunjukkan hasil yang baik. Kemudian, untuk hasil N-Gain juga menujukkan nilai 0,39 dan termasuk dalam kategori menegah. Kesimpulannya adalah teknik describe and draw dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa.
This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of using describe and draw technique toward students speaking ability and also to find out students perception of using describe and draw technique in teaching speaking classroom at the first grade MIPA 3 students of SMAN 3 Majene. This research is quantitative research with pre experimental design, the population of this study was the first grade IPA 3 students of SMAN 3 Majene which consists 25 students. The data in this study were collected by using speaking test and questionnaire, the test was pre-test was given tp classes before treatment and post-test was given after treatment. The result of the data analyzed by using SPSS to found out homogeneous and normal then hypothesis was tasted using
paired samples test. Then hypothesis was tested using paired samples test. This study also used N-Gain to measure the effectiveness of the use of a treatment in research. The results of the paired sample t-test sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that (H1) is accepted and (H0) is rejected. The results of the perception questionnaire also showed good results. Then, the N-Gain results also showed a value of 0.39 and included in the medium category. The conclusion is that the describe and draw technique can improve students‟ speaking abilities.
