Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja paving block hidrolik yang menggunakan agregat kasar berupa kerikil berukuran 0,5-1 cm sesuai standar SNI 03-0691-1996. Paving block dibuat dengan metode pencetakan menggunakan mesin hidrolik hand press, serta menggunakan air tawar sebagai media pencampuran dan perawatan. Variasi campuran yang digunakan meliputi tiga tipe, yaitu N-S, TIPE 4 N-S, dan TIPE 3 N-S. Setiap tipe diuji kuat tekan dan daya serap air pada umur 28 hari. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa paving block TIPE 4 N-S memiliki nilai kuat tekan rata-rata tertinggi sebesar 10,802 MPa, sedangkan daya serap air terendah diperoleh pada TIPE 3 N-S yaitu 5,01%. Berdasarkan klasifikasi mutu SNI, paving block pada variasi TIPE 4 N-S dan TIPE 3 N-S termasuk dalam mutu D, yang dapat digunakan untuk area taman. Sementara itu, variasi N-S memiliki kekuatan di bawah batas minimum sehingga belum memenuhi kriteria mutu paving block. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kerikil berukuran 0,5-1 cm dapat digunakan untuk pembuatan paving block rendah mutu rendah, dan perlu penyesuaian proporsi material agar mencapai mutu yang lebih tinggi.
This study aims to evaluate the performance of hydraulic paving blocks using coarse aggregate in the form of gravel with a size of 0.5-1 cm, in accordance with SNI 03-0691-1996 standards. The paving blocks were manufactured using a hydraulic hand press machine, with freshwater used for both mixing and curing processes. Three mix variations were tested: N-S, TYPE 4 N-S, and TYPE 3 N-S. Each variation underwent compressive strength and water absorption testing at 28 days of age. The results showed that TYPE 4 N-S achieved the highest average compressive strength of 10.802 MPa, while TYPE 3 N-S exhibited the lowest water absorption at 5.01%. According to SNI classification, paving blocks from TYPE 4 N-S and TYPE 3 N-S fall into Class D, suitable for garden areas. In contrast, the N-S variation did not meet the minimum strength requirement and thus did not qualify under the standard paving block categories. This study indicates that gravel with a size of 0.5-1 cm can be used in low-grade paving block production, but adjustments in material composition are needed to achieve higher quality classes.
